"Pioneer, an Albany-based financial institution, has donated more than 4,000 school supplies to help students start the year prepared and ready to learn. Supplies collected from customers and employees were distributed to Tri-County United Way in Glens Falls, as well as schools in Troy and Hudson.
According to a press release, Pioneer’s School Supply Drive has provided more than 18,000 supplies to local students in the five years since its inception.
'No child should have to start the school year without the supplies they need,' said Thomas Amell, president and CEO of Pioneer. 'Through the Pioneer Charitable Foundation and our annual School Supply Drive, we are proud to help families turn back-to-school season from a difficult time into an exciting start for every child, providing the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed.'"
